Carolyn Briggs is an Indigenous elder and founder of the Boon Wurrung Foundation, established to preserve her culture and language. She’s also completing a PhD as an Elder in Residence at RMIT university and, at 70 years of age, she shows no signs of slowing down.

Over the long weekend, Carolyn was recognised on the prestigious Queen’s Birthday honours list with an Order of Australia for significant service to the Indigenous community.
