The Government has announced a review of funding for Indigenous radio stations. Among the changes being floated, Communications Minister Senator Helen Coonan wants to re-organize the way $13 million in funding per annum is distributed. Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Indigenous Communications Association Patrick Malone says he’s surprised by the brief time span between the announcement and the beginning of talks. CAAMA Radio Manager and long-term Broadcaster Jim Remedio says he’d like to see the Government expand their support to match the growth in Indigenous radio stations.
