Indigenous Australians six times more likely to go blind

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are six times more likely to go blind than non-Indigenous Australians. This is the key finding of a survey released today by the University of Melbourne’s Indigenous Eye Health Unit. It also found that more than 94% of vision loss associated with eye disease is preventable and treatable.
