Indigenous Australian boxer Damien Hooper has found himself in the media spotlight moments before his fight this morning after wearing a t-shirt with the Aboriginal flag. The light-heavyweight boxer was cautioned by the Australian Olympic Comittee for breaching the Olympics uniform code.

Rule 50 of the Olympic Charter prohibits athletes from any form of publicity, propaganda or making a political statement.But some observers say despite Hooper’s violation of the Olympic dress code he has helped raised more important issues.
