Indigenous Australia invited in to the uranium boom

Politicians of both major parties are trying to avoid letting uranium enter the debate in the lead up to an election but behind the scenes the boom continues. Age journalist Katherine Murphy says a special task force has been advising the government on ways to open up Australia more to the possibilities presented by uranium exploration and part of the strategy is to encourage indigenous people to be involved in mining. The dark side of this though is that remote communties will be the ones who really have to deal with the uranium waste dumping that will almost certainly be a consequence of Australia getting involved in the nuclear cycle.
