Students around Australia have been able to open their eyes and their minds to Indigenous art through a subject being offered online by Charles Darwin University. Offering the courses internationally is the next stage in a plan to ‘globalise knowledge’ of Aboriginal Art. Associate Professor of Australian Indigenous Art Sylvia Kleinert says the Northern Territory is the home and heart of the contemporary Aboriginal art movement through the dot paintings from Papunya and bark paintings. But Prof. Kleinert says the courses are not just confined to the NT and have attracted a growing interest from overseas.
