Australia has the capacity to grow just about anything but the food industry is struggling to stay afloat with competition from cheap imports.
Food producer McCain today announced the closure of a potato processing factory and they are simply the latest in a long line of companies that are struggling to compete. Inadequate policies relating to the labelling of food and poor consumer education lie at the heart of the issue where spending just a little bit more can translate to keeping the industry alive.
