It’s a common misconception that pregnancy is a license to let your diet run free. Whilst you are eating for two, the second mouth involved does not require anywhere near as much as you. Pregnant women do need to eat more, but they may want to choose their meals carefully.

Recent evidence has shown that some women overestimate how much extra they should be eating when pregnant. Those who over-indulge, tend to be overweight prior to becoming pregnant, and gain more during pregnancy than their slimmer counterparts.
