ICAC advice: bring a friend when meeting with a lobby group

From now on, local government representatives in NSW will be encouraged to report any dealings they have with lobby groups, and invite witnesses to join their meetings. The Independent Commission against Corruption, ICAC, has issued guidelines for councilors, explaining how to handle their constituents, fairly and with integrity. The guidelines instruct local governments to make their relationship with different interest groups, and the corporate sector, subject to public scrutiny, to avoid claims of inappropriate conduct.
