In an attempt to discourage asylum seekers and refugees from entering Hungary illegally, the far-right Fidesz party has passed anti-immigration laws, officially named ‘Stop Soros’ after the Hungarian born philanthropist and political activist George Soros.

These new laws criminalise non-government organisations or NGO’s from aiding or helping any migrant wanting to stay in the country.

Local human rights advocates who fail to oblige will be liable for prison terms.
