Human Rights Commission looks into freedom of religion act

The Australian Human Rights Commission is again considering the need for a freedom of religion act. Submissions to the commission closed on Saturday, with many Christian organizations saying that any law surrounding freedom of religion would restrict discussion and debate and limit personal freedoms. Other groups, most vocally the atheists, say that Australia needs freedom from religion to represent people who have no religious affiliation.
