Human noise pollution threatens Australian magpies

You may have seen magpies across your neighbourhood, and think their only job is to attack during their mating season.

But according to a new research, human noise pollution is taking its toll on the iconic Australian bird, affecting the songbirds’ ability to forage for food and to communicate.

The Wire’s contributor from RTRFM Fiona Bartholomeaus spoke with University of Western Australia’s PhD candidate at the School of Biological Sciences Grace Blackburn about this research.
