Rob Oakeshott, the independent member for Lyne in northern NSW, has said that a unity government – where Coalition ministers govern alongside their Labor opponents- could be a creative solution that would restore stability to Australian politics. Oakeshott, along with other independent members –Bob Katter and Tony Windsor- as well as Greens member Adam Bandt – are all being courted by Labor and the Coalition, in the event they will be the key to forming a minority government. But given that counting is still to be finalized, is this just a moment in the sun?
