A hospital in Nivani, Sri Lanka, has been bombed, in the latest escalation of violence in the Island’s civil war. The conflict in Sri Lanka is now in its 30th year, and the Government is planning for it to be the last. The SingahleseGovernment claims it is days away from defeating the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam, or LTTE, who are fighting for an independent state for the minority ethnic population of Tamil’s within Sri Lanka. While many countries, including Australia, regard the LTTE as a terrorist organization, both sides of the war have been accused of human rights violations.
