There are more Australians than ever sleeping rough according to the “Counting the Homeless” report published today by the Australian Institute of health and welfare. The Homelessness rate for single adults has risen by 10%, for older Australians by 30%, and 17% more families are without a roof over their heads. But there was some good news. Among teenagers homelessness has decreased by 20%. Study co-author David Mackenzie says that figure seems directly linked to programs which have targeted the young and newly homeless
