HILDA survey shows single parents use of childcare going backwards

Single parent families are dropping out of childcare much faster than couples and poverty may be the cause, according to a large-scale survey of Australian families.

While the figures, drawn from the latest Household Income and Labour Dynamics in Australia Survey or HILDA , show no reduced need for care, there was an increase in poverty from 15% to 25% in 2018.
