The Herald Sun yesterday ran a front page story that declared that Victorian police were paying the private school fees of the daughter of Carl Williams. The article came out only hours before the gangland leader was allegedly murdered in prison. The story has raised questions about the extent to which the media, in favouring the public right-to-know, can or should publish information that could potentially expose criminals to danger.
