For those working on the land, life has never been this tough. In a bid to help out farmers doing it tough in severely parched areas of Victoria, The Bracks Government is offering state-subsidised work on Crown land. The Victorian Government initiative has seen a number of water authorities offering jobs to farmers as diverse as weeding and carpentry. One such organization is the Goulburn Broken Catchment Authority. Bill O’Caine is its CEO and he spoke with The Wire.
