Over the weekend a multicultural employment expo organised by the Australia-Korean Welfare Association and the Smith Family, was aiming to get newly arrived migrants on track to employment. Around 32 welfare and community groups and businesses took part in the expo, some hoping to recruit new employees. Newly arrived migrants at the event said that the main barriers to employment in Australia were English language skills and a lack of local work experience.
