A new study has revealed more than the half of Indigenous children in Western Australia could not pass a simple hearing test. And it’s not just a state-wide problem.
However, not all it’s bad news. The Telethon Speech and Hearing Centre, that conducted the research, has a success story in southwestern Western Australia, where the percentage of hearing-impaired Indigenous kids dropped by 3.6 per cent.
