In the Northern Territory, a doctor has been recognised for research into the health benefits of Indigenous land management. GP Registrar Paul Burgess has won the Prize for his pre-PhD studies, looking at whether the poor health outcomes that came about when peoples were dislocated from their country can be reversed by land and sea management groups. Dr Burgess says he’s received interest from indigenous communities around the nation.
