Indigenous Child Health workers and researchers have gathered in Perth for the Telethon Institute Child Health Symposium to discuss and celebrate the challenges and achievements in caring for women abd children that face Foetal Alcohol Syndrome(FAS).Fiona Stanley Director of the Telethon Institute Child Health Research stated that the conference is further evidence that Indigenous controlled community projects are more successful.Professor Coleen Haywood Partnership Manager Rio Tinto Child Partnership advocates the involvment with local Indigenous community people.Canadian Meti,Dr Caroline Tait from the University of Saskatchewan gave her full support for proper community consultations to deliver health care for mother and child.
