If you’re in a city and you’re forced to wait 45 mins to see a doctor, spare a thought for those in the remote indigenous communities of Australia who are forced to wait up to 3 weeks to see a health professional.

On the 4th of November, the Federal Government announced an alliance with rural and regional communities to increase the amount of spending on Regional health resources.While this is a step in the right direction, medical facilities in remote and rural ndigenous communities are notoriously under-equipped to deal with the volume and severity of cases they see. Phillip roberts is the General Manager of Remote Area Health Corps and has reached out to healthcare professionals in a effort to attract them to these understaffed communities.
