Health professionals say it’s okay to ditch dairy

You don’t need to consume dairy to be healthy. The latest National Health and Medical Research Council’s dietary guidelines state that “appropriately planned vegetarian diets, including total vegetarian and vegan diets, are healthy and nutritionally adequate.” Today Animal Liberation Queensland has called for the Sydney Morning Herald to make a public correction of their article criticising the animal rights organisation’s ‘Ditch Dairy’ campaign. The article suggests the campaign is irresponsible because dairy is supposedly essential for good health, and that the campaign contradicts national nutrition guidelines.
