‘Respectful Relationships’ is the government’s new program which aims to educate young people about the nature of sexual and domestic violence. Targeting community groups, schools, and sporting clubs, the program hopes to reduce violence against women. While womens’ groups are applauding the initiative, opponents of the program say it unfairly stereotypes men as being the sole perpetrators of domestic violence. Dominic Geiger caught up with Micheal Woods, Adjunct Fellow at the University of Western Sydney, and Karen Willis, executive officer at the New South Wales Rape Crisis Centre, to chat about the issue.
