BRL Hardy directors today stepped down after the results of a NSW inquiry found the company had deliberately acted to protect its assets from claim by asbestos victims. ACTU Secretary Greg Combet welcomed the resignations and said the union would continue to fight for complete compensation to all past present and future victims. He was not aware at the time of the interview that the directors would be leaving with ten million dollars in severance payments.
