Hair samples collected by anthropologists in the early days of colonisation are being used to trace indigenous DNA. The project is a collaboration between the South Australian Museum and the Australian Centre for Ancient DNA. The ground breaking research will provide proof of how long indigenous people have occupied Australia and will enable people to trace their own lineage and connect it to place.
