For non-Indigenous Australian teachers, working in remote Aboriginal communities can be a difficult task. Language and cultural barriers, as well as the challenging environment many remote communities pose, make it difficult for not only the non-Indigenous teachers to adapt to their roles, but also for the students to learn.

But a new program run by the Northern Territory Catholic Education Office aims to change all this by training and employing Indigenous people in their local communities.
