According to the Department of Health, over 6 million individual tests for COVID-19 were conducted in Australia since late January. It takes up to 5 days to determine if a person is positive.

As more clusters and hotspots are being discovered in NSW, especially in the CBD area, there have been calls for group testing to be conducted. This is to help to get a full picture of how the disease is moving through the community.
