As the Government moves to introduce off-shore processing of asylum seekers in parliament today, no doubt one issue that will come up in the future is accountability. Who is responsible for the asylum seekers’ health and welfare? Tonight the Australasian Study of Parliament Group, a group of former parliamentarians and academics will meet to discuss why accountability and transparency must be restored at all levels of Government.
