As the election draws near the knives are drawn when it comes to the Greens, with Opposition Leader Tony Abbott announcing his intention to preference the Greens last in all lower house seats. The move comes with Abbott’s promise not to do deals with independents or minor parties to form a minority government. In the meantime the Liberal party is also reported to be investigating allegations they are paying so-called ‘bots’ to troll the Greens on Twitter.

Independent news site Crikey reports The Liberal Party has denied artificially inflating its social media support, but shows a number of identical tweets from random accounts attacking the Greens.
