Can community radio help Australians deal with the deepening economic crisis? The Australian Greens think so – today they encouraged the government to give the sector an extra 14 million dollars in this year’s budget. That’s a huge injection of funds for a sector which normally receives around 8 million to run hundreds of radio and TV stations around the country. Greens Senator Scott Ludlam made the announcement – he says that the Greens believe community media is very important.
