A popular walking track in Sydney’s north-west has been closed down due to safety concerns from a nearby Rifle Range. The Benowie track was found to be within the range’s Range Danger Area, a buffer zone that surrounds all rifle ranges to ensure there is no safety concern to the public. NSW Greens MP David Shoebridge organised a bush-walk through the Benowie track to protest the closure. He was joined by about 40 walkers in asking for the track to be reopened, and Laura Corrigan went along.
