Greenpeace targets bank as part of anti pollution campaign

As commuters were rushing to work this morning, Greenpeace activists scaled the outside of an ANZ bank in Brisbane’s CBD as part of its new anti pollution campaign. The stunt, which involved a man and a woman clinging to the bottom of a giant banner, signifies a summer of environmental protest across Australia says John Hepburn, a senior campaigner with Greenpeace. Our banks, he argues, have a long way to go before their actions match an increasingly green image. ANZ says that it assess every new energy project against its energy and risk policies but declined to talk to The Wire.
