Grassroots campaigning in the deep south
The United States Presidential Election always manages to gain headlines in Australia and around the world. Although in recent years its hegemony has been diminished by the rise of China, the President of the United States holds a tremendous amount of power, and as such draws massive interest. Patrick Batchelor gave much more than his interest, he actually flew over to take part.
As a volunteer coordinator, Patrick rallies support for President Obama by running grassroots events, establishing phone banks and appeals to the undecided in the state of Texas. He’s gone from campaigning in NSW state seats, to campaigning in a state the size of NSW with the population of Australia
