The government is planning to introduce an Access Card next year that will be used by any Australians who access Medicare, Centrelink, and all other government benefits schemes. Despite planning to introduce legislation for the Access Card in the next fortnight, the government is stalling. Alice Keath speaks to Democrats Senator Natasha Stott Despoya about why the government is dragging its feet, and she also looks at some of the features – and flaws – of the card.
