Global water crisis looms in the near future
Forget oil, experts are now worried how water will be the next natural resource issue. A global warning is being issued as some predict its price might reach eighty dollars a barrel as the worldwide demand for water is expected to double in a few decades. Director General of the International Water Management Institute, Frank Rijsberman is in Australia this week and on his way from Canberra to Sydney, he spoke about the water problem, which is more critical outside Australia than we would have imagined. The Wire also spoke with Jenniffer Mckay, the water expert from the University of South Australia who feels we need a better, more coordinated water management plan.
