Global lessons on Indigenous economic policy
The Fourth National Indigenous Economic Forum held in Cairns has discussed the importance of economic independence through Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Enterprises and practical employment strategies.
A number of speakers joined in the discussion, including a keynote address from Karen Diver, who is currently based at the University of Minnesota-Duluth in Department of Indian Studies Masters in Tribal Administration and Governance program. She served previously as an appointee of President Obama as the Special Assistant to the President for Native American Affairs.
She shared her unique experience and insight on what works well for Indigenous communities across the world.
