Glaring gaps in statistics on indigenous health

One in three indigenous Australians are left out of national statistics. A report has revealed that in New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania, there are glaring gaps in the collection of information about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. The study has also found that a large number of indigenous people are suffering from acute rheumatic fever, a condition that is virtually unknown in other developed countries.
