With building products business Hardie’s in disgrace this week as the whole truth is revealed about how they tried to evade payments to asbestos victims, the Greens have asked all parties to return political donations they received from the company. Senator Kerry Nettle says the money, totalling $240,000, should go into a trust fund for the victims. Financial commentator Steven Mayne says there’s no point as it would just reduce Hardie’s liability.
