Does bipolar disorder run in your family genes? The Garvan Research Institute, Neuroscience Research Australia and UNSW have joined forces to identify the genetic factors that lead to bipolar disorder. The main researchers aim to create targeted treatments for people living with the mental illness. Tests have been done on 41 individuals from 9 different families, with varying forms of bipolar. The data will be released before the end of this year.
