Queensland parliament is currently debating a new adoption bill that, among other things, explictly excludes gay adoption. There has been outspoken agreement to this exclusion from some members of parliament. Same-sex couples in Western Australia have been eligible to adopt since 2002 while the New South Wales government is currently reviewing same-sex adoptions.
