The 8th annual Garma Festival – Australia’s leading cultural exchange event – was held from the 4th to the 8th of August in a spectacular celebration of cultural traditions, dance, song, art and music. It was also the venue for the leading Key Forum on Indigenous issues in Education and Training, plus a unique line-up of entertainment including the awe-inspiring Bunggul Dancers. Simon Balderson, Advisor and Media Coordinator for the Garma Festival and Yothu Yindi Foundation, speaks about the meaning of the festival.
