A peak indigenous research body has slammed West Australian Premier Geoff Gallop’s comments following the eviction of an Aboriginal family. The government has housed the family in various hotels until a government-owned home was found for them this week – but Mr Gallop has used his statements on the issue to criticise the parenting skills of Aboriginal families. Foundation for Aboriginal and Islander Research Action Chairperson Les Malezer wants to see MR GALLOP and his colleagues lift their game. He spoke to Craig Egert.
