Parliament today recognised the 20th anniversary of the High Court’s historic Mabo decision. It began when Torres Strait Islander Eddie Mabo decided to challenge the Crown through the Queensland Supreme court over the ownership of his island home . It ended with a High Court decision which opened the door for recognition of native title. Gail Mabo remembers her father and talks about his passion for his country, a passion which she and her children share.
