Future Jobs Forum shines spotlight on mining and manufacturing

After two days about tax, the government has now turned its attention to jobs with the opening of the Future Jobs Forum at Parliament House in Canberra today. The spotlight of opening day – manufacturing.

The forum is a chance for the Government to hear from businesses and unions on the challenges facing the Australian economy and its future but unions took the opportunity to put forth calls for the Australian mining industry to be more supportive of local manufacturers.The call is supported by a number of Labor MPs including Member for the rural seat of Throsby, Stephen Jones who says we should encourage the big mining companies to buy Australian.
