Australia’s medical community has criticised the Federal Opposition for failing to pass the National Preventative Health Bill. The legislation would create a national agency, designed to reduce Australia’s chronic disease burden, related to obesity, smoking and excessive alcohol consumption. But the coalition has moved a motion to delay consideration of the Bill, until next year.
