Tomorrow is a special day for Aboriginal people all over the country, but particularly for those from Wave Hill in the Top End. It’s the 46th anniversary of the Gurindji Walk-Off, when men, women and children from Wave Hill station protested against pay inequality. It’s a moment that was famously re-told in Australian songwriter Paul Kelly’s song ‘From Little Things Big Things Grow’. The track, along which the Walk-Off took place, had been heritage listed and is now the site of anniversary celebrations.
