Free children behind wires
A public art installation by Chilout stunt people in Adelaide as they see hundreds of dolls piled high in a huge metal cage. These dolls, each tagged with the names of children in detention centres, were removed by the public one by one in a symbolic act of freeing minors from detention.
Hundreds of people in Adelaide stepped into the metal entrapment and brought out a doll to be placed in a play area. They also sent a letter to their local MP and Minister Scott Morrison about the treatment of asylum seeker children. The Blackwood Circle of Friends secretary Tricia Rushton called for the release of these children. Rev Dr Lynn Arnold took a step forward against sending unaccompanied minors to Cambodia or regional Australia and putting them at risk.
