Forum calls for respect and justice for people smugglers

On the eve of Valentines day, The Refugee Action Coalition held a forum that asked Australians to show a different kind of love – their compassion.
Popular sports broadcaster Les Murray was there to express his gratitude for the man who, in his youth, smuggled him from Hungary to Australia.Murray said such ‘people smugglers’ are not corrupt traffickers and are misunderstood in mainstream Australian society.The forum asked for respect for the service smugglers provide for refugees in need.
